An adult Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea) spotted in the River Clyde at RSPB Baron's Haugh, taken by Rebecca Dickson. These magnificent birds are often seen in this hunched resting position between meals. When they are hunting their neck is elongated as they stalk their prey. These agile hunters are truly wonderful to observe. This wetland reserve is a great place to visit, extremely popular with birdwatchers.
