Wildflower meadows are an important habitat for a variety of species However we have lost over 97% of them in the UK since the 1930s. This wildflower meadow was developed by Buglife Scotland in cooperation with the |nner Forth Landscape Initiative (IFLI).

Great Yellow Bumblebee (Bombus distinguendus) on Common knapweed (Centaurea nigra) at RSPB Balranald Nature Reserve, North Uist. The distinguishing feature of this rare bee is the band of black hairs across the thorax where the wings join the body.
